The Corry marching band attended a competition in McDowell on Saturday, September 14, and took home third place.
The participants came to the school for early morning practice before they got on the bus. Once they got there, everyone got off the bus to go watch another band, “AAA.” After watching, they all went back to the bus to get all their equipment and set up for their performance and have a practice run.
As soon as they felt fully prepared and ready, they went on to the field and performed. One of the band members explained that they thought the first and second song were the best of the three, but they had just learned the third song that week.
Following the performance, they packed all their gear back in the bus and went back to the field to anxiously wait for awards. The awards resulted in Corry getting third place out of eight bands, closely behind Cochranton and Maplewood.
Angelica Cressley, a senior member of the marching band, said, “I’m looking forward to this season to grow and expand our show and scores.”
