Mr. Krasa is the new Interim Director of Vocational Education at Corry High. Krasa has been in education for 20 years, and he started his career at Meadville in the middle-high school before moving back to Corry. Before taking over the Director of Vocational Education position, he taught sixth grade STEM, eighth grade Technical Education, Intro to Engineering, STEM 1 & 2, Electronics 1 & 2 and Robotics 1 & 2.
Krasa is a graduate of California University of PA with a Bachelor’s of Science in Applied Engineering & Technology, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. He also holds several professional certificates, including K-12 Principal, Technology Education K-12 and Vocational Admin Director 7-12.
Switching positions can go two ways: either you’re excited or you’re not very enthusiastic about it. Mr. Krasa is very excited for this new chapter in his life.
“I’m ready to continue to grow one of Corry’s best educational assets, the Career & Technical Center, which is a direct pipeline for the local workforce,” commented Krasa. “I consider it an honor be a part of that and look forward to cultivating, establishing, and building relationships with all local industry, manufacturing as well as post-secondary institutions to ensure that we are offering as many potential career opportunities and trainings as possibly.”
The Director of Vocational Education position oversees all the programs offered in the Career & Technical Center (PDE approved programs offered in the fields of construction, welding, cosmetology, healthcare, machining, and childcare, as well as courses taught in the fields of Technology Education, Art and Family Consumer Science courses. Corry has several articulation agreements established with local colleges, universities and technical schools, that he will continue to advance.
“It is vital for the success of the program that [we] continue to cultivate and develop associations with local community businesses and organizations to ensure students’ success,” stated Krasa.
Krasa expressed what he was most excited for this new career. “I am excited to bring new vision to the district,” he said. “Corry has always been very supportive of the classes taught in our Career & Technical Center and I look forward to expanding on that.”
