The world has so much good food to offer. I have plenty of favorite home cooked meals, but also love to eat out. Here are my top 10 favorite places to eat out. I hope I can persuade you to try out these restaurants if you have not yet.
10 – McDonald’s: This is something that every city has and I will always enjoy. Even if it is greasy and unhealthy, it is delicious and won’t hurt to eat occasionally. I love their Big Mac sauce, and always get a Big Mac or if I am not as hungry then ask for the sauce on a normal cheeseburger. The fries are a hit or miss though. Sometimes they are salty and hot, while sometimes they are cold, hard and dry. Their buffalo sauce is the best buffalo sauce any restaurant offers. I love it so much that for my birthday my friend bought 50 buffalo sauces from there for me to use on anything I want. McDonald’s is known for getting orders wrong often, so you just have to check the food before you leave. Our local McDonald’s also is known for taking such a long time. What is the hold up, isn’t this “fast food?”
9 – Sonic: Just because this is ranked at number nine, does not mean it is not enjoyable. I absolutely love Sonic, but I have only had it three times in my life before. The food is relatively cheap. The corn dogs, pretzel sticks, hot dogs, mozzarella sticks, are all very good. My absolute favorite thing to get here is the “Ocean Water.” It is so delicious, and they have crushed ice, which automatically makes it better. The description does not do it justice for how yummy it is. I even buy water flavor packets of this drink and from the Sonic brand, but it is not as good as it is from the actual restaurant.
8 – Osaki Japanese Sushi & Steakhouse: The food here is absolutely amazing, plus you get a great experience. This is the restaurant where they cook on the grill right in front of you. My family goes here often for birthdays, other celebrations, or just if we feel like it. I usually do not like Japanese food so much, but these noodles are always amazing and so is the shrimp, chicken, and rice. I feel way too full after eating this and unbutton my jeans at the table. My dad and brother always try to make me eat sushi there, but I do not like anything besides a cucumber roll. No raw fish. That is the biggest downside of going to this restaurant, and the fact that we always are there for at least two hours, but other than that it is great.
7 – Arby’s: What I get from Arby’s is healthy compared to most places. I always order a turkey, bacon, cheese, lettuce, and ranch sandwich on wheat bread. This is relatively healthy and nutritious compared to getting a roast beef sandwich and fries. My order from here always tastes great and never goes wrong. Here is a controversial opinion (maybe?) … I am not a fan of Arby’s curly fries. Most of the time they are broken and little fractions of curls, rarely any actual curly ones.
6 – Subway: Some people hate on Subway, but I really enjoy it. It also seems healthy, I am not consuming a bunch of fats, grease, and actually am eating healthy. I go back and forth between ordering a sub and a salad. I get lettuce, turkey, cheese, pickles and ranch on wheat bread. And on my salad I get lettuce (obviously), cheese, turkey, croutons and ranch. Subway has one of the best salads possible. I never feel bad or guilty after eating from here, because it is healthier than some home cooked meals also. The biggest downside to Subway is that they totally got rid of their “$5 foot longs.” That’s what they were known for, and now the price has doubled.
5 – Chick-Fil-A: If I made this list two years ago, this would be my top favorite restaurant. But, I actually went on a Chick-Fil-A spree and ate it every chance I got. In the summer of 2021 I spent three weeks straight on vacation, and in those three weeks my friend and I got Chick-Fil-A seven times. That is way too much in that period of time. I still would devour and love their great chicken sandwiches and buffalo sauce when I had the chance.
4 – Olive Garden: For some reason I typically do not like sitting at restaurants and eating. I like to get food and go home and eat it, or pick it up and eat it in a parking lot with my friends. But Olive Garden, that’s a different story. Due to the endless salad and bread sticks, I would sit down here any day. There have been countless times where I did not even order an entrée, I just got the salad and bread sticks. Something about their Italian dressing is so yummy. I am usually a ranch girl, but here, never. And their soft and salty bread sticks are to die for. When I do get a main dish, I go for their broccoli and shrimp alfredo, which never disappoints.
3 – Culvers: Culvers is a fast food restaurant known for their burgers and milkshakes. Their burgers are so yummy, the patties aren’t thin and flimsy like McDonald’s patties are. The buns are also soft and buttery and very enjoyable. Their fries are crinkle fries, and this is one of my only two exceptions to eating crinkle fries. The milkshakes, everyone needs to try! I always get peanut butter, and it is the perfect thickness. It is not too runny, and if you want you can use a spoon to eat it. I have never tasted a better milkshake in my life. The peanut butter flavor is so dominant and strong, which is exactly what I want. There are no locations near this area, but luckily I travel very often to Michigan and Ohio, so am lucky enough to get it a few times a year.
2 – Chipotle: Chipotle is ranked here not just because of how good it tastes, but how real it tastes. I am not consuming greasy, flimsy or “fake” food. It is white rice, grilled chicken, and amazing mozzarella cheese that I get. It is pretty plain, but so delicious. The cilantro in the rice and the lemon flavor that you taste once you eat it is so great. I have never tasted better rice in my entire life. The more flavorful, the better. The chicken is almost always amazing. I once got an online order and opened it to the chicken all burnt to a crisp and all I could taste was charcoal. I cried. Lastly, I enjoy that customers order and watch them make it, it just makes me feel better.
1 – Raising Canes: This chicken joint is even better than Chick-Fil-A. The chicken strips are to die for and they taste genuine and real. The fries are also so great. I do not usually like crinkle fries, but these are perfectly salted and always taste fresh and hot. The most perfect thing about this fast food franchise would be the huge soft Texas toast that comes with each meal. It is not like crunchy toasted toast, it is soft, so buttery and perfect. I cannot put it into words how great it is, it doesn’t do it justice. The service there is also always amazing, never having a long wait no matter how packed it is. Not to mention, they have crushed ice which is way better than
