Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is a week-long summer event presented by the Foundation for Free Enterprise Foundation. If you are a sophomore or junior interested in business or an educational getaway, this is the program for you!
There will be five sessions panned out through July and August at the Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology campuses. Students from all over Pennsylvania gather together to run a manufacturing company during their chosen week. Each group will be working on financing, managing, and advertising their companies and competing to win the top prize!
Nicholas Hunter, a PFEW participant, was asked what he learned, “I learned a lot about marketing, the one presenter was amazing. [PFEW] made me choose marketing as a major.”
He said, “The staff was respectful of us (not condescending) and actively did their best to help us learn.”
Even though this is an educational program, Nick shared additional information about his social experience, “I met my best friend and three of my closest friends there.”
Altogether, PFEW is an amazing opportunity for high school students interested in finance, advertisement, marketing, or just spending a fun summer away that will aid in your future! For more info, look here!
