On Friday, 17 students from Corry Esports will be attending a field trip to Pennwest Edinboro for an opportunity to play Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. against other teams. On this trip they will be competing with other schools’ Esports teams in Rocket League and Super Smash Bros.
After the competition there will be an assembly with guest speakers that talk about future opportunities after high school surrounding Esports. It’s often very rare to hear about how middle/high schoolers can get scholarships and play for college Esports teams.
These 17 students are going for an opportunity to learn about future career paths. This can help them feel less scared about the future as you rarely see people work with video games out of high school.
