Drake’s ‘It’s All a Blur’ Tour: Pittsburgh, Night 2

Tens of thousands of eager fans gathered outside the PPG Paints Arena in downtown Pittsburgh waiting to see Drake and J. Cole, the two “goats,” live.

My sister and I were engulfed in the huge crowd that spanned many city streets. We shortly realized after ten minutes passed and no movement into the arena that there was an issue. The temperature was 23 degrees and many concert goers weren’t wearing any coats. The crowd started getting restless because it had hit the time the concert started and there were still so many people outside. Once me and my sister made it through security we sprinted up the escalator and entered through the walkways of the arena and it was practically empty.

The show was amazing with intricate special effects, floating heads, fire, and incredible live singing. We were at a good spot in line but some people didn’t get in until almost an hour into the show.

When leaving the venue (still freezing cold) everyone was basically stranded and no Ubers were coming. I made a TikTok that got eighty thousand views and people took to the comment section to share their traumatic experience from that night.

Andrew: “Had 3 Ubers cancel on me and my phone was dead. I had to find a phone charger at 711. I ordered another Uber and that one canceled too so I just walked back to my hotel in 7 degree weather”

Kedric Brandford: “It was worse night one I don’t even wanna hear it there were no ubers me and my fiancé waited till 1:30 in the freezing cold”

Danielle: “We went night two & my god it was cold! It was a real feel of 7 & these poor girls were in tank tops… this momma had her winter coat lol”

Em: “To wait in that line and then to walk I couldn’t feel anything in my body… too cold”

The Drake concert was the third concert I’ve ever been to and the worst regarding management and conditions. Something definitely was wrong because why was there only one entrance into the concert itself, too? How did they expect 40,000 people to go through five sets of doors.
