The Saint Valentine of Valentine’s Day was one of two men preaching the good word in Rome in the third century. One of these two was martyred on February 14, 269, which gave us the date for his eponymous day.
Although the stories behind Saint Valentine are a bit vague, some legends say that he was a Roman priest who defied Emperor Claudius II, who banned marriage so men would be more willing to go to war, by continuing to marry people in secret, which resulted in Saint Valentine’s brutal execution.
Mostly everyone loves celebrating Valentine’s Day. It can either be a very happy day, or a very sad day depending on your relationship status. There are so many ways to celebrate and I thought I would share some common ways that people celebrate.
In school, there has always been a “Valentines Day Party” that everyone looks forward to going to. They mainly consist of the favored heart shaped candies that come in a red box or the Valentine’s Day fun Dip.
