The 2023-2024 official high school swim season begins tonight, November 17, 2023. The practice for this season will be 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. on Monday through Friday nights. There are two different groups of swimmers: one group for beginner swimmers and a different group for more experienced swimmers.

Throughout the season there are 14 meets, one invite for the girls, and one for the boys. During a meet there are many events: 200 medley relay, 200 free, 200 IM, 50 free, diving, 100 fly, 500 free, 200 free relay, 100 back, 100 free, 100 breast and 400 free relay. The number of athletes on the team is not yet determined, but will be on Monday, November 20. The captains of the team will be determined as the season deepens.

The coaches of the team are Doug Gerould and Rich Zarger. I asked sophomore Rachel Moats how she thinks this season will go, she then replied with “I think it will go pretty great based on our outcome from last year’s performance and our effort during tough practices.”
