Corry volleyball crushes North East

On October 17, 2023, the Corry girls volleyball team (12-0) faced off against North East (12-1) in a big rivalry match up. The Corry girls won the highly-anticipated match in a big 3-set sweep.

In the first set Corry and North East were both battling their hearts out, leaving the set to end 30-28. In the second set Corry and North East continued to battle. Both teams played very well going back and forth, but in the end the second set ended in a 25-23 Corry win.

In the last set, Corry’s defense really showed, blocking the outside hitter, who is #6 in the state for kills currently, almost every time she hit the ball.  From the great defense in this set to finding gaps in North East’s formation, Corry pulled through, ending 25-20 with Corry being up 6 for most of the time.

North East put up a great fight, but defensively they were lacking due to them being down two players, and that is what led to the big win by Corry.

This exhilarating match had all of the Corry fans on the edge of their seats. This was also the first region match that North East has lost in two years.

Beavers volleyball faces off at the Beaver Dam on Thursday, October 19, against the Meadville Bulldogs.
