This top ten list is based on my love for baking and my sweet tooth. This list only includes desserts that I have had before and would eat again. Regardless of where these desserts are on the list, they are all quite delicious.
10. Cinnamon rolls- Whether or not you believe that cinnamon rolls are breakfast, I still consider them a dessert. The cinnamon and the frosting create a great combination, however, it is number 10 because the sweetness is sometimes overdone.
9. Fruit pizza – When the sugar cookie crust meets the cream cheese frosting topped with fruit, it creates a wonderful treat. This is a great dessert to bring to parties as it is easy to make and delicious. You just have to be careful as to what kind of fruit you put on it, as it can slightly change the taste of the cream cheese.
8. Caramel apple funnel cake – I had this when I went to a baseball game. It was a large funnel cake topped with apples, caramel sauce, and powdered sugar. It was so delicious, but I recommend sharing it with a friend, as it may be larger than your head!
7. Cannolis – Whenever I go to a restaurant and they have a cannoli on the dessert list, I cannot help myself from wanting one. The crunch from the cannoli shells mixed with the filling is such a great flavor.
6. Cheesecake – On occasion I make this myself. Regardless of what some may say, it is not all that hard. You can pretty much put whatever you want in it and it usually turns out great. Just like brownies, you must not over mix the batter or it will crack when it is baking. Other than that, cheesecake is a wonderful dessert to eat, especially on a hot day.
5. Strawberry rhubarb Pie – With a rhubarb plant growing right in my garden, strawberry rhubarb pie is a simple and delicious dessert. Rhubarb alone can be quite sour, but when added to the sweet strawberries, it creates a great combination.
4. Eclairs – Eclairs are a unique dessert that not everyone might have tried. They are very good chilled as the vanilla custard cream almost turns to ice cream. Because there is not much to them, you can add so many things or even switch up the flavor.
3. Cherry pie – Cherry pie is one of the easiest pies to make, but it is very rewarding. There are many different kinds of cherries that can be used to give the pies different flavors or levels of sweetness. These pies are almost always good, as it is hard to go wrong with a cherry pie.
2. Chocolate lush – Chocolate lush is a very good dessert for a hot day. The chocolate, cream cheese, and whipped cream create one of my favorite flavor combinations. This is even better if you add a chocolate crust to the bottom. If you want a dessert to bring to a gathering, chocolate lush is perfect.
1. Dutch apple pie – My favorite dessert ever is dutch apple pie. This is different from normal apple pie because it has a cinnamon streusel topping instead of pie crust. When this pie is warm, it is perfect for the colder holidays like Thanksgiving. To top it off, add some vanilla ice cream, and then you have a perfect dessert.
