Corry football golf outing returns this weekend

Ashton Mineo, Reporter

The Corry football team is hosting their annual golf outing at North Hills this weekend. The football team has been hosting the event for years and it is great way for the program to raise money. Additionally, it is a lot of fun for all the participants. It’s great to see the community give money to our football program as they work hard to put on a fun golf event.

The event is a four man, best ball scramble this Sunday, May 21. Each team member pays $75 for a total of $300 per team. There are hole prizes including a commemorative glass and golf balls. The $75 buy in includes a meal for all at the conclusion of the event. Thirty teams will be competing in the outing, and the lowest scoring team will be named the winner.  The event will begin with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. and will conclude when each of the 30 teams have completed their 18 holes.

The football players, coaches, and parents are doing an excellent job setting up this event and ensuring it runs smoothly. The team began setting up for the event on Thursday. Most players and coaches will be in attendance on Sunday, getting the event kicked in gear as well as providing food and drinks. Coach Carey has been the leader in organizing this event, so if you have a chance give him a thank you. Sunday should be a lot of fun for those involved and there is a lot of money going to a good cause. Good luck to all the golfers!
