Every month there is a “Girl of the Month” who gets spotlighted in our local newspaper, The Corry Journal.  This month, The girl chosen is Emily Blake.

Emily works at the Corry Community Center and cleans offices at the Corry City Hall. Blake also participates in volunteer work for the National Honors Society and the Beaverdam Mennonite Church.

I first asked Emily what her initial reaction was when she was chosen as the “Girl of the Month” her response was “I was excited and happy.”

I then asked why she thought that the committee chose her for the award and she said, “I think I was chosen for my academic achievements as well as my strong work ethic.”
