The Corry Beavers trap team just wrapped up a 12th undefeated season.

It is an amazing accomplishment for any team to go undefeated. The Corry trap team has completed this accomplishment for the 12th season in a row. This is an amazing accomplishment and it is important to give our trap program its flowers for being one of the best in the nation. Not only is this their 12th straight season without a loss, but it is also their 12th straight league title. We are witnessing a historic run from our Beaver trap team.

I got a chance to speak with senior trap team member, Tate Tasker, about his team’s success.

When asked how the trap team continues to be successful year after, Tasker explained that the coaches play a major role in continuously putting the team in a position to win. He also complemented the excellent development system within the trap program, as kids hone their skills at a young age. Tasker told me this season was special to him because it was his senior year and means a lot to keep that undefeated streak alive. Finally, I asked Tasker if he thinks the program will maintain its winning ways in the coming years, he replied, “Yeah definitely, there is a lot of talented kids coming up.” From the sounds of it, the undefeated streak does not have an end in sight.

The Beavers’ undefeated season was capped off with a 169-155 win over Sheffield. Three Beavers: Blake Mitchell, Nate Shirey, and Joshua Vanderschaaff, led the way with perfect scores. JV also grabbed the win versus Sheffield, making this night to remember even more special. What a great season and run its been for this team. I expect this team to continue their winning ways and keep the streak alive.
