Fun facts about animals you probably did not know

Modest snapping shrimp (Synalpheus modestus), side view  (15 mm in size).  It’s common in the West Pacific and Japan, but this one is from the Indo-Pacific and wholly matches the species description:  deep red body and foreclaw with translucent head and claws displaying blue highlights. Also yellow eyes.
