Senior picnic at the Peak

Senior picnic at the Peak

Ashton Mineo, Reporter

Every year Corry sends its seniors off with a senior picnic each year. This is a wonderful tradition and it is an excellent reward for graduating seniors. This year’s picnic is being held at Peek’n Peak Resort on June 5 from 8:30-2:45. Everyone who is attending must ride the bus. Permission slips must be turned in by May 17.

Last year’s picnic was held at Sparrow Pond, but unfortunately it was overbooked this year. Although Sparrow Pond would have been a really good time, I think the Peak has just as much if not more to offer for this day of fun. For the majority of the day, seniors will be split into two groups, a swimming group and an activities group, and at the halfway point the groups will switch. The Peak has an outstanding pool that ranges from inside and outside. The pool also has a water slide and multiple hot tubs. The other group will be doing loads of fun activities such as mini golf, volleyball, spike ball, corn hole, and more. After all of the fun, there will be drawings for prizes at the end of the day.

Needless to say, the picnic certainly sounds like a full day of fun. Even if it rains, it should be a great time because there is a contingency plan in place and plenty of fun indoors. For lunch there will be burgers and hot dogs served from the grill, as well as complementary chips and beverages. I encourage seniors to dress for warm weather and pack a suit.
