Rumors have started this past weekend that singer Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Joe Alwyn have broken up. The couple has been together for the last six years, and have written many songs and albums together. 

No one knows where these rumors originated from. It is speculated that they have started just because Joe was not spotted by fans at any of Taylor’s shows on her Era’s Tour. But to explain that, Joe has been filming for movies the entire time. Websites just have been claiming that a “source close to the couple” was where the information came from. There is no true/named source, but all of the sudden practically every news source began posting about this. After this claim started going around, the next question was who broke up with who? 

The unnamed source said “They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart and eventually come back together.” Taylor Swift has had her run-ins with rumors and lies all throughout her career, so this would not be a surprise to be another lie. 

As to what Swifties think about this entire situation, they are in denial. All over TikTok, Swifties have been seen crying, denying, debunking this lie, etc. Long term fans have had their fair share of freak outs over false rumors, so those specific fans were really just denying these unanimous claims. 

In favor of these upset Swifties, supposedly Taylor and Joe were seen together in Liverpool, England, which is the country Joe is actually from. This weekend was Taylor’s only weekend off of her Eras Tour she has begun, and she spent her time in England with her so-called “ex.” 

More details are bound to come out about the pair sooner or later. Sightings of the two, or maybe some more “reliable sources” will speak out.
