Last week, a teacher here at Corry High won the Golden Apple Award, an award given for excellent teaching.

In order to win the award a student has to submit a nomination for the teacher of their choice. The winner this year is Mrs. Marsh, nominated by Lexy Watrous.

I asked Marsh what her reaction was when she found out she had won the award. She said, “I was very excited and overwhelmed.”  I followed up by asking if she was made aware that Lexy was going to be nominating her, she then answered, “I did not know that Lexy wrote a letter.”

Mrs. Marsh  has been a teacher here for 12 years. Before Marsh began her career here she studied at Edinboro  University. Marsh also stated that the best part of her job is “That I get to spend the day with awesome kids. I really enjoy my classes and every day is something different.”

I would like to congratulate Mrs. Marsh on winning this award, and thank her for allowing me to write this article.
