Gomez goes offline

Recently pop culture has been losing their minds over Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber drama.

Selena Gomez has been looped into celebrity relationship drama ever since she was 18 years old and started dating pop star Justin Bieber. The couple went through a series of exploitation in the media through the years, and all these years after their breakup the internet still can’t stop talking about them.

There has always been suspected drama between Selena and Hailey, but the suspicion really took off when Selena had been photographed by the paparazzi, and the internet was negatively talking about Gomez’s body image. Soon after the photos took the internet by storm, Hailey posted a Tik Tok video with her friend, Kendall Jenner, lip syncing to a sound that said “I’m not saying she deserved it, but God’s timing is always right.” Hailey deleted the video after many accused her of targeting the video towards Gomez. Many thought that the drama would subside after Hailey went on a podcast, and “crushed” the beef between the two stars.

After there had been a little bit of silence, the drama recently continued after Selena posted a video of her eyebrows that had been over-laminated. Later, Kylie Jenner posted an Instagram story with her on FaceTime with Hailey, and their eyebrows close to the screen, and a selfie of Jenner with the caption “was this an accident.” All accusations that were shade to Gomez were shut down by Kylie. The internet thinks that they are witnessing two mean girls not being very sneaky, though.

Gomez called for a social media break after commenting on a video of Hailey making a disgusted face at the mention of Gomez’s best friend Taylor Swift. She defended Swift in the comments by saying, “So sorry, my best friend is and continues to be one of the best in the game.”

Now the internet has been a landmine, sharing multiple videos that show Hailey being a fan of Gomez way back in the day, whether that was copying videos that she has made, or songs she has sung. One video in particular shows Hailey dissing Selena’s poster advertisement promoting her makeup, giggling and saying that there was lipstick on and bruises on her knuckles.

Hailey has actually been accused of copying Gomez on several accounts. Whether that was copying the “g” tattoo Selena has behind her ear, or getting a ring design Selena had tattooed on her finger. The most notorious video of Hailey copying would be her repeating something that Gomez had made her moody, which was “I wish people knew me for my heart.”  Hailey was seen repeating this on Saturday Night Live. Hailey also started a cooking show after Gomez had one on HBO for multiple seasons already.

Despite how much these two try to act like they get along, it’s clear that they don’t, and if they do eventually it won’t be anytime soon. The world will just have to stay curious for now because no one has been talking.
