Radiant Mrs. Ruth

Jenna Martin, Editor

Our school secretary, Julie Ruth (Mrs. Ruth) has been working for our district for 13 years. Ruth went to school right here at Corry High School and was raised in our town as well. After graduating from high school she attended a traveling tourism college in Kissimmee, Florida. Ruth grew up with two brothers, and she is now married and has two kids: a 23- year-old son and a 26-year-old daughter, as well as her dog, Rembrandt.

In her free time she likes to read and listen to music. Her favorite book is the Harry Potter Series, which just happens to be her favorite movies as well, but her favorite show is “Criminal Minds.” Her dream vacation is Alaska, which she will be achieving this coming summer. Her favorite classes throughout her school career were her English and literature courses. If Ruth had to choose her favorite sport to watch it would easily be hockey. “Go Penguins!”.

Before she began working here, Ruth was a manager at McDonald’s, a loan officer and a customer service rep at a loanĀ  company, with many other part time jobs in between. She was also a sub here for three years before she got her official position as a secretary ten years ago. When Mrs. Ruth, was young she dreamed of being a travel agent “even though they don’t really have those anymore.” If she had to pick her favorite part of her job, she would say that it is “getting to talk to all of the students every day.”
