What you need to know about PFEW

If you are a sophomore or junior interested in business, Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) is an event you will want to consider attending.

PFEW is a week-long event hosted by the Foundation for Free Enterprise Foundation. Five sessions of the week will be spread throughout the months of July and August at the Lycoming College and Pennsylvania College of Technology campuses.

During the week, students from all over Pennsylvania work together to run a manufacturing company. These groups will work on managing, financing, and advertising their companies and competing for top prize.

PFEW participant Nicholas Hunter said of the experience, “It was great… even the people who didn’t really care [about PFEW] really ended up loving it.”

When asked what he learned, he said “I learned a lot about marketing, the one presenter was amazing.”

Hunter also shared about his time at PFEW, “I met my best friend and three of my closest friends there.”

Overall, PFEW is a great opportunity for any high school students interested in finance, advertisement, marketing, or even if you are looking for a fun and educational getaway this summer. You can access more information here.
